Roy Best

Roy Best is a visual artist from Manchester who graduated in Fine Art in the 1970s. He briefly taught art and worked as a freelance illustrator in Leeds before completely abandoning the creative life. He has recently returned to Leeds and resumed his art practice after a 40 year hiatus.

Roy is now busily refreshing long dormant skills through intensive life drawing practice and urban sketching and exploring new media including digital art. His work is mostly figurative and firmly rooted in drawing. His themes include explorations of the human form and aspects of the urban landscape. He is also involved in a number of collaborative projects with other creatives and has begun to exhibit his work locally.
